Heat Insulation (Sand Bath) Apparatus, as per clause 6.2.3.1 of IS : 15298 (Part-II)

The Sand Bath is fitted with a hot plate size 400 x 400mm which can be regulated to 150 ± 2ºC, fitted with temperature indicator connected to a thermocouple soldered to a copper disc of 15mm dia x 2mm thick. Two temperature indicators are provided, one for the temperature of the hot plate & the other in the shoe region. The apparatus works on 220/230VAC. Steel balls for 5mm dia having total mass of 4kg are provided.
